On 21 February 2019, in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Pham Hai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Belarus.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives congratulated the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Belarus on his appointment and expressed confidence that he would make a worthy contribution to the development of the traditionally friendly Belarusian-Vietnamese relations.
The parties discussed in detail the issues of trade and economic cooperation and industrial cooperation. Projects for the creation in Vietnam of a plant for the production of milk and dairy products, a joint production of trucks, and in the long term assembly of Belarusian buses, were mentioned as good examples of cooperation. At the same time, it was noted that the enterprises of the two countries should make greater use of the advantages of the Agreement on a free trade zone between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives confirmed the invitation to Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam to visit Belarus this year.
In this regard,
the parties discussed the issue of the inclusion in the Vietnamese delegation
of representatives of the executive branch and business circles of Vietnam. The
Vietnamese ambassador expressed readiness to work together in organizing a
business forum in the framework of a visit or a Belarusian-Vietnamese seminar
on public health.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, in particular, the growth of mutual tourist flows and educational exchanges.
In addition, there was an exchange of views on the use of the potential of the Belarusian-Vietnamese interregional relations.

deputy chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives
of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Industry, Fuel-Energy
Complex, Transport and Communication, head of the working group of the National
Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation with the Parliament of the
Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
