On 4 June 2021, the Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Health, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy Aleksandr Shipulo took part in the OSCE PA online seminar “Health as a Human Right”.
The event was held under the auspices of the OSCE PA’s General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions and served as an opportunity to learn about the UHC2030’s global compact for progress towards universal health coverage.
Gabriela Cuevas Barron, Co-Chair of the UHC2030 international health partnership initiative, Francesca Colombo, Head of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Health Division, and Kyle Knight, Senior Researcher on Health and Human Rights at Human Rights Watch, addressed the participants.
The parliamentarians expressed the need to accelerate the work to achieve universal health coverage in all countries in the OSCE region.
