On 9 October 2019, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Belarus Manfred Huterer.
Vladimir Andreichenko congratulated Manfred Huterer on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Belarus noting that Belarusian-German relations including inter-parliamentary cooperation are developing fruitfully.
to the Chairman of the House of Representatives, active exchange of visits,
effective cooperation in international forums, such as the OSCE PA and the
Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference is the confirmation of the constructive
relations with the German colleagues.
From his part, Manfred Huterer also noted the important role of the parliamentarians as people’s representatives in the development of bilateral relations. The German diplomat emphasized that Belarus supports peace, de-escalation and confidence-building processes in Europe. In this regard, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany noted the successful holding of the Minsk Dialogue forum and expressed his opinion on the need to continue it.
In addition, the sides discussed the aspects of new forms of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
In order to develop further investment, trade and economic cooperation an agreement was reached to facilitate the organization of a Belarusian business forum in Germany.
During the meeting such issues as strengthening links in the areas of food and processing industry, waste processing, machine tool building, production cooperation in the field of electric mobility were discussed as well.
The sides exchanged their views on the aspects of cooperation in science and research, in particular, the organization of the Days of Science and Technology of the Federal Republic of Germany in Belarus next year.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on International Affairs Valery Voronetsky, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Ecology, Nature Management and Chernobyl Catastrophe, the Deputy Head of the Working Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Cooperation with the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany Tatiana Kononchuk.
