On March 13, 2023 Andrei Savinykh, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on International Affairs took part in The Second Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN) on the sidelines of the 146th IPU Assembly.

The conference was dedicated to the parliamentary support to the national and global efforts on post-pandemic recovery.

It was noted that the сoronavirus pandemic and its numerous consequences continue to pose a serious challenge to humanity and require a global response based on unity, solidarity and multilateral cooperation.

In light of the increasing challenges and threats, it is vital to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of the Non-Aligned Movement. Against the backdrop of the emergence of a multipolar world order, the Movement (comprising 120 States, including the most dynamic centres of world economy) is of particular importance.

Decisions of the Manama Conference to amend certain provisions of the Statute on Working Modalities of the NAM Parliamentary Network and to grant observer status to the International Parliamentary Organizations were made by the participants. At the end of the event, the final document was adopted.
