14 November 2017, within the framework of the official visit of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation to the Republic of the Sudan, Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of the Sudan.
An exchange of views on topical issues of the bilateral agenda was held.
Issues of development of the Belarusian-Sudanese inter-parliamentary dialogue were discussed. The sides spoke in favor of regular meetings on a bilateral basis.
An agreement was reached to stimulate the expansion of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere using parliamentary methods. Vladimir Andreichenko outlined the Belarusian vision of the development of cooperation on a number of specific business projects.
Considerable attention was paid to the tasks of further expansion of the legal framework.
Both sides emphasized the importance of obtaining mutually beneficial results in the field of humanitarian cooperation and medical tourism.
The sides noted the intensification of the relations after the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of the Sudan.
Vladimir Andreichenko stressed the importance of the Republic of the Sudan as a partner of the Republic of Belarus on the African continent.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the parliamentary committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of the Sudan.
After the end of the meeting, Vladimir Andreichenko and Ibrahim Ahmed Omer talked to the representatives of the Sudanese media. Both sides stressed that the current parliamentary visit was important for the development of the entire range of the bilateral relations.
The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus visited the sitting hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of the Sudan and got acquainted with the current activities of the Sudanese parliament.
