28 August 2018, Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Belarus Le Anh on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission in Belarus.
Vladimir Andreichenko thanked Le Anh for his work on strengthening ties between Belarus and Vietnam. He noted that the existing level of political dialogue is a good incentive for expanding mutually beneficial comprehensive cooperation between our countries in conditions of friendship and full mutual understanding. In this regard, the importance of its active development both at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations was stressed. The visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to the Republic of Belarus, scheduled for 2019, will undoubtedly contribute to this.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on building up trade and economic relations and regional cooperation with the aim of bringing the bilateral trade to 500 million US dollars in 2019. Such task was set by the presidents of Belarus and Vietnam. In the opinion of Le Anh, besides the expanding of production cooperation, successful solution of the task will be facilitated by expending scientific, technical and academic exchanges between our countries, strengthening cooperation in the areas of high technology, of science-intensive products development, of tourism, by participation of Belarusian enterprises in the public transport fleet renovation in the cities of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh. Vladimir Andreichenko expressed readiness of the Belarusian parliamentarians to fully support the work on these and other areas that meet the bilateral interests of Belarus and Vietnam.
