From 23 to 25 January, 2018 parliamentary delegation, which consists of Andrei Naumovich, Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media, and Anna Kanopatskaya, Member of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on Economic Policy, took part in the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, held in Strasbourg.
During their stay in Strasbourg, the deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus took part in the meetings of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy. Bilateral meetings of Belarussian MP’s with A.Rigoni,

Head of the Department of Democratic Governance of the Council of Europe, as well as T.Termacic, Head of the Human Rights National Implementation Division of the Council of Europe, also took place.
During the meetings, the sides exchanged the views
on the current political situation in Belarus and the course of the
election campaign for the local Councils of Deputies. The information on the working group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belaruson the
study of the issue of the death penalty as a penal instrument applied in the Republic of Belarusactivities and plans for 2018 was also reported.
