On June 15 2020, the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus V.Andreichenko participated in a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, which ran via video conference.
Opening the meeting, Chairman of the CSTO PA, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation V.Volodin spoke about the priorities of the Russian Federation during its chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2020.
Chairman of the House of Representatives V.Andreichenko noted that the objectively difficult conditions associated with the coronavirus pandemic did not stop the activities of the CSTO PA and thanked the members for the productive work in the new format.
V.Andreichenko also noticed the propositions of the Belarusian Side to the model laws development (such as «On intelligence activities», «On counterintelligence activities», «On operational-search activities», «On security activities»), and the draft Concept of migration security of the CSTO member–states. «I wish the adopted bills, as the President of the Republic of Belarus noted, came from life, had clear practical orientation and gave a new impulse to our comprehensive mutually beneficial cooperation», - he said.
During the meeting, the Sides decided on electing the deputy chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives for National Security I.Lavrinenko as a Chairman of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Socioeconomic and Legal Issues.
