November 28, 2017 Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko took part in the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Central European Initiative Parliamentary Dimension (CEI), devoted to the theme “Digital Technologies in Terms of Ensuring Geopolitical Security”.
Addressing the participants from member states of this organization, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus has noted that the results of the CEI events being held in Minsk will make a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation not only in the use of digital technologies to ensure geopolitical security. They are also of great importance for the creating of new joint projects and areas of cooperation both in the political, economic, technical, and humanitarian fields. Their common goal is to strengthen security in Europe and to ensure the prosperity of the peoples living in it.
CEI was established in 1989. At present, the CEI includes 18 countries (Austria, Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic). The Republic of Belarus became a member of the CEI in June 1996. The Republic of Belarus presides in this organization for the first time.
