On 10 July 2017, in the House of Representatives, Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with Johanna Brandt, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
Vladimir
Andreichenko noted that the visit of Johanna Brandt to Belarus and the opening
of the branch office of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Minsk is an important
step in strengthening the bilateral relations that would promote the expansion
of political, trade-economic and humanitarian contacts and interaction in other
areas. He also expressed readiness of participation of the parliamentarians in
related processes and development of dialogue with the Parliament of the Netherlands.
For her
part, Johanna Brandt congratulated Vladimir Andreichenko on the successful
holding of a large-scale parliamentary forum in Minsk, the 26th annual session
of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, noting the importance of such events for
consideration of issues on the international agenda and strengthening of the bilateral
cooperation.
Johanna
Brandt expressed her confidence that strengthening of the diplomatic presence
of the Netherlands in Belarus would help deepen the interaction between the two
countries in many areas.
The sides
exchanged views on the role of the parliaments of Belarus and the Netherlands
in the development of ties at the interstate and interregional levels.
Particular
attention during the conversation was given to the possibilities of increasing
investment cooperation.
The meeting
was attended by Valery Voronetsky, chairman of the Standing Commission of the
House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on
International Affairs, and Nikolai Borisevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Netherlands.
