On 20 January 2020, the Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Savinykh met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Belarus Manfred Huterer at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on the initiative of the German side.
During the meeting the parties discussed the full range of issues that characterize the development of Belarusian-German relations at the present stage.
Mr. Savinykh noted the positive dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue. He stressed that Belarus is interested in developing Belarusian-German political relations, trade and economic, investment, as well as scientific and technological cooperation.
Special attention was paid to issues of European and Eurasian integration and prospects for further cooperation between Belarus and the EU.
They also discussed the upcoming visit to the Republic of Belarus of a German parliamentary delegation led by Mark Hauptmann, the head of the German-Belarusian parliamentary friendship group of the Bundestag. The visit will take place from 3 to 6 of February 2020.
Deputy of the House of Representatives Valery Voronetsky also took part in the meeting.
