22 December 2020

On 22 December 2020, in the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with Armen Ghevondyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Belarus.

The head of the House of Representatives has highly appreciated the work of the Armenian diplomat in Belarus, noting that the business and inter-parliamentary ties and human relations that have been developing during his diplomatic mission in Belarus, will be in demand in his new position and will serve not only to strengthen, but also to expand cooperation between Belarus and Armenia.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives noted the positive dynamics in trade and economic relations over the past two years, and especially the fact that in 2020, despite the pandemic, there was almost 20 percent increase of the trade turnover between the two countries compared to 2019.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, the Interparliamentary Commission on cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has made a great contribution to the development of the Belarusian-Armenian collaboration.

In his turn, Armen Gevondyan thanked the Belarusian parliamentarians for the assistance and support in his work.

The sides expressed confidence that the inter-parliamentary interaction would be further developed.
