On 25 — 26 November 2019, the Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on International Affairs, Valery Voronetsky, is taking part in the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum organized by the Körber Foundation of Germany.
The Berlin Foreign Policy Forum is one of the most prestigious and authoritative specialized conferences organized by the Foundation every year since 2011 in Berlin. The event is traditionally attended by about 250 high-ranking German and foreign politicians, statesmen, diplomats, experts and journalists.
The forum will discuss issues of geopolitics, European integration, the role of the European Union, international security maintaining and preventing arms race. Special attention will be paid to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership.
As part of this event, Valery Voronetsky is scheduled to make a speech in the plenary discussion, which will be attended by David Zalkaliani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Olena Zerkal, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Roderich Kiesewetter, the Speaker of the CDU faction in the Bundestag on International Affairs and others.
On 25 November, in the Bundestag, Valery Voronetsky held a meeting with Mark Hauptmann, the Head of the German-Belarusian Parliamentary Friendship Group, during which they discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, including issues of inter-parliamentary interplay.
