On 25 February 2020, under the leadership of the Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Housing Policy and Construction, Viktor Nikolaikin parliamentarians met with representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
During the meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on promising avenues for the development of Belarus-U.S. cooperation in the field of trade, including on improving legislation in this area.
The meeting participants expressed their readiness and hope for continued interaction on the issues discussed in order to further establish and intensify investment and trade cooperation between the countries.
From the Belarusian side the meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on Housing Policy and Construction Aleksandr Bobolovich and member of the Standing Commission on Foreign Affairs Valery Voronetsky.
From the American side the meeting was attended by Nnamdi Ezera, Senior Counsel for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, U.S. Department of Commerce; Drew Roberts, Attorney Advisor, U.S. Department of Commerce and Monica Sendor, Economic Officer, Second Secretary of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus.
