On 30 June 2021, Member of the House of Representatives, Member of the Delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus to the OSCE PA Ivan Mamaiko participated in the online meeting of the OSCE PA’s General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions during the 29th Annual Session of the OSCE PA, which runs in a hybrid format from 30 June to 6 July 2021.
Chair of the Committee, Kyriakos Hadjiyianni (Cyprus), addressed the meeting and highlighted the impact of the pandemic on democratic institutions. The Rapporteur of the Committee, Kari Henriksen (Norway), Vice-President of the OSCE PA, presented her report, highlighting the important role of multilateral diplomacy in addressing challenges in the OSCE region and delivering humanitarian goals.
There was a discussion on human rights, intolerance and discrimination. The parliamentarians also highlighted the rise in domestic violence, the issue of universal health care as a human right, freedom of the media, and the situation of migrants and refugees.

Belarusian delegation Ivan Mamaiko presented the actual internal political
situation in the Republic of Belarus after the 2020 presidential election, as
well as the official position and approaches of the Belarusian side to
prospective interaction with the OSCE participating States.
