On July 31, 2019, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko held a meeting at the House of Representatives with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Belarus Martins Virsis.
V.Andreichenko thanked M.Virsis for his contribution to enhancing contacts between the two countries in various fields, including interparliamentary relations, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Appreciation was expressed to the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Belarus for his efforts to develop inter-regional cooperation, including with a view to expanding investment cooperation.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives emphasized that it is necessary to further develop popular diplomacy between the two countries.
According to M.Virsis, the relationship between the two countries has come to a solid foundation.
Both sides, noted a productive dialogue that exists at the level of specialized parliamentary commissions, friendship groups, and allows us to strengthen cooperation on international platforms.
The meeting was attended by Valery Voronetsky, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives for International Affairs.
